Sponge Relay
Equipment: 4 Large Sponges
8 Buckets (4 with water, 4 without water)
Directions:
· The class is divided into 4 teams.
· The teams are split into 2 groups. I group is lined up behind a bucket with water in it and the other half is behind the empty bucket.
· Each team starts with a sponge.
· On the signal, the first person dunks the sponge in the water and tosses it to the person at the empty bucket and they squeeze out whatever water they can. Then they run back to their team.
· The next person does the same thing.
· Go for 3-4 minutes and then see which team has the most water in their bucket.
Variations: Instead of doing it for a specific amount of time, you could have each child go twice.
